Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Competing at the NOLA Motorsports Park last weekend for the opening round of the Texas Sprint Racing Series, Team Benik will be back at the Louisiana facility this weekend for the opening round of the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour. Entering eleven drivers, Team Benik will be well represented in five of the IAME powered SKUSA classes.
A combined four drivers will enter the Micro and Mini Swift ranks with Royce Vega and Troy Ferguson competing in the youngest category on the weekend. With both drivers capable of winning, Team Benik is hoping for big things from their Micro Swift drivers. In the Mini Swift class, Gabby Guidera and Beckham Toupikov will throw their hat into the mix as they aim for solid results.
While four drivers will see action in Micro and Mini, an additional four will do battle in X30 Junior led by United Kingdom’s Brandon Carr. Carr, who showed speed at the SKUSA Winter Series, will be joined by 2021 Mini Swift Champion Enzo Vidmontiene, perennial front-runner Michael Costello and the ever-improving Gavin Whitt to bring a powerful quartet to NOLA Motorsports Park. Team Benik newcomer Walter Jenkins will enter the KA100 Junior class while Frankie Mossman will be joined by former NTT INDYCAR Series driver Zachary Claman De Melo in X30 Senior.
“We have our goals set high this weekend after success last weekend,” explained Nick Mitchell. “Our focus through the summer karting months is the Texas Sprint Racing Series, United States Pro Kart Series and the SKUSA Pro Tour. With two of three series already underway, it is time to kick off a third one this weekend as we look to carry the team’s momentum through the rest of the 2022 season.”
Unofficial practice will begin on Thursday and carry through Friday before wheel-to-wheel action takes place through the weekend. With the first round of the six race series taking the green on Saturday, round two will commence Sunday giving Team Benik drivers two chances to stand on the podium.
