“Busy week for karts and cars in two different states for Team Benik”
Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Heading to the third round of the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup, Team Benik would be back at the newly configured Charlotte Motor Speedway. Utilizing the event to chase the elusive Grand National Eagle, Team Benik’s Jeremy Fletcher completed the task taking the win in the X30 Pro Junior class and ROK Junior as the team scored a trio of top-five results.
“Huge congrats to Jeremy and his success this weekend,” explained Nick Mitchell. “Jeremy was on his game and at the front of the field during every on-track session. He has truly grown as a driver in our program and the wins will not stop here.”
Claiming the top position on track in both the X30 Pro Junior class as well as ROK Junior, Fletcher was the driver to beat in the junior ranks. Now named a double WKA Grand National Champion, Fletcher will shift his focus to ROK Cup USA’s ROK Fest East event this coming weekend in his hopes to once again top the podium and be invited to join Team USA at the ROK SuperFinal in Italy later this year.
Micro ROK competitor and WKA Manufacturers Cup round two winner Asher Ochstein claimed the class pole position on Friday and went on to garner three heat race wins on Saturday. Battling hard in the main event, a mechanical issue forced Ochstein to lose speed and eventually be classified in the third position.
Mitchell added, “Asher drove great and deserved the win again this weekend. Unfortunately, he was involved in a long race battle that allowed the leader to drive away. We had a mechanical issue that hindered his speed and forward progress but taking positives from the weekend, Asher has proven that he has to speed to be a contender in the Micro ranks for the rest of 2020.”
With the results as of late, Team Benik will continue to push hard to ensure that they are at the front of the field and the top of the podium. Already planning for ROK Cup ‘s ROK the Rio and the annual Superkarts! USA SuperNationals, there is a huge opportunity to join Team Benik.
Mitchell continued, “We have several upcoming sales on both new and used Team Benik equipment as well as tent and transport services to upcoming events.”
This week will prove to be another busy one for the Florida based program as they will be back in action at the ROK Fest East program at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina while their Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires team will compete at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
After a strong opening round in Indy Pro 2000, Team Benik with BN Racing scored three top-ten results including an impressive sixth place finish from Jacob Loomis in the team’s series debut. Loomis will be back behind the wheel at Mid-Ohio and will be joined by double tenth place finisher at Road America Sabre Cook.
Mitchell continued, “We have a fast group of drivers that will battle for a host of ROK Cup USA prizes while Jacob and Sabre will aim for the front of the field at Mid-Ohio. Would be a great weekend if we can top the podium in both events.”
Loomis, Cook and Team Benik with BN Racing will be on track Wednesday and Thursday for their condensed event weekend while the Team Benik karting efforts will hit the track Thursday with main events taking place on Sunday.
