Fort Lauderdale, Florida – With the second event weekend of the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) set to begin, Team Benik will descend on the ultra-racy GoPro Motorplex with ten hungry competitors. Traveling to the Mooresville, North Carolina facility, Team Benik will be looking to take home race wins, podium results and valuable points towards the end of the year USPKS championship chase.
“The Team Benik program is continuing to grow as we have more new competitors this weekend,” explained Owner Nick Mitchell. “The success that we are having, and the development of our drivers is attracting karters from all levels to compete on the national stage. We are looking forward to getting on track and having a good weekend.”
Two drivers will come from the Micro Swift ranks in perennial frontrunners Troy Ferguson and Royce Vega while Paul Hart will be the lone Mini Swift competitor. Three drivers will fly the Team Benik colors in X30 Pro Junior as 2021 Mini Swift Champion Enzo Vidmontiene will be flanked by Michael Costello and Gavin Whitt. Costello will pull double duty on the weekend as he will also look for the podium in the KA100 Junior class alongside Beckham Toupikov who levels up from Mini Swift to the junior ranks. Like Costello, Dalton Hanes will also pull double duty as the lone senior driver as he will see action in X30 Pro and KA100 Senior.
Modeled after Italy’s Kartdromo Parma, the GoPro Motorplex is one of the premier karting facilities in the United States. Housing the popular USPKS program this weekend, Team Benik drivers will be looking to continue their success from recent events.
Mitchell added, “As we do every race weekend, we have our goals set high and will work as hard as we can to achieve them.”
Team Benik will hit the track Thursday with qualifying for both Saturday and Sunday’s wheel-to-wheel races. With prefinals and main events set for the weekend, USPKS competitors will compete in round three on Saturday before round four on Sunday.
